Who needs Personal Training?
Everyone can benefit from personal training. Whether you are new to exercise or have been exercising for years, a personal trainer can offer you a level of physical condition and a sense of well-being that may otherwise not have been achieved. Whether your goal is to lose weight, rehabilitate an injury, improve athletic performance or just feel good about yourself … personal training is the direction for you.
How do I find a Personal Trainer?
BODY BASICS has an extensive roster of qualified personal trainers for all of your fitness needs.
How do I know if Personal Training is for me?
We suggest that you start with a ‘first workout.’ This is a complimentary session provided by the personal trainer to determine your fitness motivation and immediate goals. This session will also provide you with an orientation to the selected equipment.
How much Personal Training do I need?
The amount of personal training that you need depends upon you and your goals. Beginners and individuals seeking rapid results may want two or three sessions per week until a pattern is established; others may benefit from one or two sessions per week as a ‘maintenance’ routine. Your trainer will gladly make a recommendation for your desired program. Your trainer will discuss the cost per session and set up a most convenient payment plan for you.

I started with resistance training at an early age in Winnipeg MB, working out with weider plastic and cement plates in my basement, through high school and university I continued with weight training and have never looked back.
During University and with the support and encouragement from my Football coaches I began taking personal training courses and USAW Certification in Olympic lifting at the same time as fulfilling my other degrees.
I have trained in many gyms and fitness centers from the “hardcore” gym to the health club centers.
I have always had a strong passion for fitness and after 25 years experience as a trainer I can create specific programs to meet each of my clients individual’s needs and goals, from athletes to seniors. Over the years I have had the privilege to train people in all areas of fitness from bodybuilding competitions, marathoners, power lifters, Olympic lifters, weight loss transformations, rehabilitation, and people that just want to keep in shape.
I’m very passionate about fitness and can’t wait to help you get started on your journey to a healthier fitter you.
My commitment to healthy food choices and fitness began with, and continues to be inspired by, my family. I was a stay at home mom for the majority of my kids’ youth. After experiencing some health scares with the birth of my third child I decided to join a gym and get in shape. I gradually began to develop an exercise routine, and started attending boot camps. It wasn’t long before I started to feel better; my body responded quite well to the exercises and I was hooked!
I began reading and studying books on nutrition and fitness and realized I wanted to know more. I decided to pursue formal training through the Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association program and never looked back. I am AFLCA certified in Resistance Training, Group Fitness Instruction and Ever Active Kids. I also have current TRX training for group fitness and personal training.
Fitness for me is now a way of life: I love the feeling of lifting weights, doing a yoga pose, and working hard in the gym. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping people who need that extra push in the right direction. I have competed in the ABBA Southern and Northern Figure competitions, and continue to train for future competitions.
You can always find me skimming through cook books; I love to cook, especially for a crowd. Spending time with family and friends is one of the things I most enjoy.
I am grateful for every opportunity to help people reach their fitness goals which, in turn motivates me to reach my own.
